"Moab."
This girl LOVES Moab. In fact, all our kids love Moab. Biking, hiking, climbing, and all the sun and sand you could ask for.
This Spring we ventured South for Spring break, did some camping and enjoyed the red rock. Here are some photos to demonstrate our awesome adventure:
First things first, we found a great campsite along the Colorado River, set up camp, and then loaded up again to get a ride in before the days end. The kids did AWESOME on their ride. Even Amelie, with her little spray-painted-pink bike, totally rocked it. I had some of the cutest pictures and videos of them riding together, but Amelie accidentally deleted them all. Luckily, Cam took one shot of the kids biking together the next day, on another ride. Cam took Josh, Dax and Ella on a longer, harder ride while I stuck to an easier trail with Amelie. (after a tough trail the day before, Amelie was DONE before we finished the trail. I ended up riding my bike with her on my handlebars, while carrying her bike on my shoulder. It was quite the spectacle, but it got the job done.)
That afternoon we met our good friends, the Jarvis family, at the park to have some food and fun.
Kids and adults worked together to dam up the stream and make a little swimming hole.

Joshua is growing by the minute.....
Cam starting us up a nice fire. We had a fun night camping, telling stories, and singing songs. The Tullis family even met us at the campsite! What a blast to have two great families spend time with us in Moab. Josh, Abe and Jack had a blast building a "torch" that nearly set the grass fields on fire. Boys!
The next morning we piled in the Jarvis' car for our repelling adventure. The Tullis' opted to go for a bike ride instead. We had to leave one car where the trail exits, and caravanned together to the top.
The kids hiked around, snacked, and gabbed while the dad's set up all the equipment.
Here are Cam and Kasey setting up the gear. Yes, we trust these two with our lives (even though Cam is wearing a flat brimmed hat. In his defense, it doesn't belong to him)
Josh and Dax are doing the first repel here. They were lowered down about 60 feet to one ledge, then walked across the rim to be lowered down another 30 feet or so. They would swing across the bottom to avoid that large puddle of water. Kasey was belaying the kids, so he was in control the whole time.

And finally, Amelie and I were tied together. Such a brave girl!
We walked out of the small slot canyon, and ventured a short distance to the next, and final repel. Cam and Kasey once again set up the equipment.
The repel was actually off of Morning Glory arch. It was incredible. The arch itself is the 7th largest in the world. It spans 243' in length. The Canyon floor sits beneath you at well over 100 feet.
Kasey was at the base again, ready to belay the kids.

Finally it was Amelie and my turn!
We made it! Cam came down last, and cleaned up the route. We packed up the gear, and hiked the 2+ miles out of the canyon. What an awesome adventure! The kids loved it.

Like usual, all the kids tuckered out on the drive home (except for Josh, of course.)
