In the meantime, here is what we did in July:
Dax took a fishing class up the street at the Wasatch Park. To say he LOVED it, would be an understatement. He enjoyed every second of it, from learning the different knots for hook tying, to gutting his fish. He brought home a few, which we bbq'd up. (he loves to eat them as much as catch them!)
This Month we also celebrated Glen and Holly's 40th wedding anniversary. 40 YEARS!!! So amazing to me. Great couple, and a great family!
I try to keep these kids outside as much as possible. One of my favorite things to do on Sunday is take a walk. Since Cam detests walks, (walk natzi), I took the kids for a little stroll around the block.
Josh and his friend Abe dug this old tire out of a dumpster and hung it up at their "fort."
The girls and I decided to try "rag curls" one night. So we bathed them, then tied their hair up to see what would happen.
Ella DID NOT like the curls (she is very much content with having stick straight hair). After undoing Amelie's ringlets, she looked in the mirror and said, "I look like Aunt Kelli!" haha
Andrea Jarvis, Laura Child and Melissa Whitaker are rockin' chicks, always seeking the next adventure. They invited us along one day to "float the canal" in Heber City. We grabbed some tubes, hiked up to the canal, and floated down. It was actually a blast (a freezing cold blast.)
Midway has a lot of special events hosted by the city. Swiss days is one, and the annual 4th of July "All you Can Eat Pancaked breakfast," is another. Our youth did an amazing job cooking, cutting, and preparing all this food as a fundraiser for our youth programs.
Jack and Kenny joined us on the 4th for a swim, and some smoke bombs (no fireworks on our street, we're too close to the forrest.)
Instead we joined Jeff and Audrey Drury at their place to take part in our own fire show, and then watch as Memorial Hill caught on fire. What a night!
Josh painted this sign. Yes, he's a cougar fan, and that worries me at times. Having lived in Provo (and not attended that school) I felt like everyone at BYU thought they were better than everyone else. Stinkin' Zoobies. (I realize I'm being incredibly judgmental and stereotypical....but if the shoe fits......and you go to BYU.....)
Amelie did her own hair!!
This Summer Cam purchased a motorcycle. The kids have had fun going on rides with dad, and Cam and I enjoyed a date together on the bike (like young hooligans).

Another Sunday we decided to take a little hike up the mountain. It was beautiful, and the kids had a great time running ahead of everyone, hiding behind a tree or bush, and scaring the others. Good times.
Josh got hot and took off his shirt, "I have to show off my sexy abs." BYU, right?
We also took a quick overnight camping trip, and hiked up to Nobletts Spring. The kids were amazed that they could fill their water bottles from fresh, clean water coming right out of the mountain.
We decorated the girl's hair with wildflowers, while the boys decided to run back down the trail.
Back at camp, Josh started us a fire and we roasted some dogs and mallows.
While eating dinner, we hear quite the commotion, and couldn't figure out what the sounds were. Hiking down a ways, we saw this sheep dog herding the sheep up the mountain. Pretty awesome.
Dax found some shot-gun shells and became "shot-gun man."
Josh turned 12 this month. TWELVE!!! Oh my. For his birthday, he decided to go to Lagoon and invite his best buddy to join him.
While the boys went on all the big rides, I took the kids on the smaller ones (though even they ended up on Wicked and Colossus.)
It was such a fun day!!!
The kids were invited to Kenny's 6th Birthday Party.
Ella and Amelie got our old bed, so now they share. Though Ella often complains because she says "Amelie sleeps like a wild animal," I'm hoping it's something they will look back on in fondness.
And finally, don't cry over spilled milk...
